Jean B. Heath Kraemer (part 2)

3. Tell me about the home you lived in as a child.

A. The first house was rented in Lakeside. It was a great big house on a corner lot with a    huge fireplace. Looking back, it probably was just normal size, but it seemed huge at the time. It had a big backyard and Father built some swings. It had a big staircase to slide down. I was always getting in trouble for sliding down and taking paint off the radiator. It had a two car garage and Midgie. Midgie was my dog. She was a bull terrier. The family next door was big and had a big garden. The father used to play baseball with us. It had an outside door on the side and Mother used to feed the men that would come knocking – it was near the tracks. Men would come all the time looking for work or food. Sometimes she would look at them and say, “That coat won’t last through the winter” and give them clothes. In sixth grade, we moved to the wealthier part of town. The people were snooty. I felt like I didn't fit in. Probably didn't.

  1. No idea why there is a huge space before "huge". It doesn't look that way in the draft form. Still learning. :)
