All right, I have to admit I thought “Lark” Whitaker was a
girl. “Lark” is mentioned visiting often
enough, I supposed she was a close friend of either Ella or Mae. I stand
corrected. “Lark”, at this time, was a 10 year old, almost 11 year old, boy
(his birthday was the 29th of August). His proper name was David
Larkin Whitaker. He probably followed Matthew around and was an extra set of
hands on the Francis farm. - Large Weasel
